The Formula 1 British Grand Prix is here from the lovely Silverstone Circuit, and Lewis Hamilton has pole position once again. Hamilton trails Sebastian Vettel in the Drivers Championship, and teammate Valtteri Bottas isn’t that far behind him. Every points position counts, and Sunday’s race could be a good one.

Can Sebastian Vettel stay ahead of Lewis Hamilton? We have all you need to know to watch and stream the British Grand Prix from Silverstone.

Said race will begin bright and early at 8 a.m. ET and will be broadcast in the United States by CNBC. An online stream containing a simulcast of that coverage can be found at NBC Sports Live and via the NBC Sports App on various connected devices, including smartphones.
Vettel leads Hamilton by 20 points in the standings. A race win is worth 25 points. But Vettel qualified third on the grid, behind the Mercedes driver and behind Kimi Raikkonen, his Ferrari teammate.
McLaren had a pretty good day in qualifying, which isn’t saying much because a “pretty good day” for them is a very low bar. Fernando Alonso took advantage of drying track conditions and finished his outlap with just tenths of a second \ to go, and set the fastest time in the first qualifying session.
Unfortunately, he was also dealing with a massive grid place penalty and will still start from the back of the lineup. Teammate Stoffel Vandoorne, however, will not be starting from the back. Vandoorne managed to get his car into the third qualifying session.
“To take part in Q3 at Silverstone was a bit unexpected,” Vandoorne said. “But I’ve been working very well for the past couple of races, and we’ve clearly seen the improvements inside the team.”
Bottas was given a five-place penalty for a gearbox change, and will start ninth on the grid. Daneil Ricciardo had a turbo issue in the first qualifying session, and he’d be starting at the back of the grid if not for Alonso’s huge penalty. His teammate, Max Verstappen, managed to qualify fourth. The Renault of Nico Hulkenberg positioned itself above the Force Indias of Serio Perezz and Esteban Ocon, a somewhat surprisingly development.
Below is the viewing information for Sunday’s action and below that is the full lineup and starting grid.
