The 2017 Formula One Austrian Grand Prix is set for Sunday and it should be an interesting race. Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes has pole position while teammate Lewis Hamilton qualified third but will start eighth with a gearbox penalty. Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel is one penalty away from a race ban going into the weekend.
F1 live stream: How to watch Austrian Grand Prix online
The Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix is here, and this is how you can watch the race online streaming and on television.

Sunday’s race will begin bright and early with a start time of 8 a.m. ET. in the United States, the race will be broadcast on CNBC, and a live stream will be available online via NBC Sports and via the NBC Sports App. That NBC Sports stream will be a simulcast of CNBC, and is the only way to legally stream the race in the US.
Vettel was given three penalty points for intentionally coming together with Hamilton during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He’s sitting at nine penalty points, with an automatic ban occurring at 12 points. After the Austrian Grand Prix, Vettel will lose two penalty points that occurred 12 months prior, so he will be out of immediate danger of a penalty.
It will be interesting to see if he plays it safe behind Bottas, and with a 14-point lead over Hamilton in the Drivers Championship.
Hamilton was hoping to mitigate the damage incurred with his five-place grid penalty due to a gearbox change, but he only managed to qualify in third on Saturday.
“It’s been a frustrating day for me,” Hamilton said. “I had a chance to be fastest today and I didn’t quite put it all together on that final lap in Q3. I’m disappointed with my performance in Q3.”
Hamilton started ninth at this track three years ago and managed to finish second, but when asked he said there was a bigger difference in speed between cars and that it will be much harder to move up through the field on Sunday.
Bottas is currently third in the Drivers Championship with 111 points, behind Hamilton with 139 and Vettel with 153. Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari will start third on the grid after qualifying in fourth, with the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen right behind, as usual.
The biggest surprise in qualifying was the exit of both Williams drivers Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll in the first qualifying session. They will start 17th and 18th on the grid despite a podium finish in the last race. The team made some aero changes that seem to have affected the rear downforce significantly, forcing both drivers into dangerous oversteer situations during qualifying.
The American-owned Haas team will see Romain Grosjean start sixth on the grid, with Kevin Magnussen suffering a car issue and starting in 15th. Magnussen looked great in the first qualifying session but did not set a time in Q2.
Below is all you need to know to stream Sunday’s action and below that is the full starting grid after Saturday’s qualifying sessions.
