The Chicago Bears are rebuilding every aspect of their receiving corps this offseason. Last week, the Bears added some firepower at the tight end position by signing former Philadelphia Eagles big man Trey Burton to a four-year deal worth $32 million.
Can Trey Burton be the next elite fantasy tight end for the Bears?
The former Philadelphia Eagles signed a four-year, $32 million deal with the Bears. We look at the fantasy implications.

Burton joins Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel as the newest additions to the Bears’ offense. The fourth-year TE is another weapon for second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in 2018.
Burton is coming out of the shadow of Eagles tight end Zach Ertz. The undrafted free agent played well while Ertz battled injuries the past two seasons. He caught 60 passes for 575 yards and six touchdowns since 2016.
Fantasy impact: This move could catapult Burton’s fantasy stock. He enters Chicago as the top tight end and could finish as the second-best receiver on the team behind Robinson next season. Burton has the talent to be an elite tight end in the league. Now he has the opportunity. Owners looking for a TE1 should keep a close eye on the fourth-year big man. He should thrive in Matt Nagy’s offense.
