The Indianapolis Colts host the Miami Dolphins this Sunday in a battle of two 8-9 teams from 2024. Neither team has done much this offseason to prove they are ready to make a playoff run, but both will try their darnedest to get a Wild Card game.
Tyler Warren start or sit: Week 1 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Tyler Warren ahead of Week 1

The Colts decided to go with Daniel Jones instead of their 2023 first-round pick Anthony Richardson at quarterback. That shows us that Shane Steichen wants to keep his job, and maybe a 9-8 record and a Wild Card berth could do that. It also shows us that the Colts are going to run the ball and use their tight ends, and with Jonathan Taylor and first-round pick Tyler Warren, maybe they can be successful.
Below, we’ll go over Tyler Warren’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 1.
Fantasy Football analysis: Colts, TE, Tyler Warren
The Colts have notoriously hoarded high upside tight ends, but none seemed to pan out. It appears they decided to move away from that plan and go ahead and grab a top tight end in the draft and stick with him as their starter. And Warren fit the role in preseason, as he was a no doubt full-time starter who saw plenty of targets. His ability after the catch was George Kittle like in college and with Daniel Jones dinking and dunking, I expect Warren to be a PPR asset with upside for big plays after the catch.
Sure, we don’t have any way of knowing just how involved Warren will be in the offense, but things are aligned for him to see a good percentage of the team’s targets. I’m very willing to make a small leap of faith for Week 1.
Start or sit in Week X PPR leagues?
Start. I’m all in on Warren being a high fantasy floor tight end this year in a Daniel Jones led offense. Plus, the Dolphins allowed the eighth-most receptions to the position last season.
Start or sit in Week X standard leagues?
Start. He should be one of Jones’ most-targeted players in the red zone this season.
