The Las Vegas Raiders head to Foxboro this Sunday to take on the New England Patriots. The Patriots are just 2-point favorites at home, so this game is considered to be extremely close by the books. Both teams look to have improved this offseason, both in personnel and coaching and this matchup should help gauge just how much or if they’ve improved.
Rhamondre Stevenson start or sit: Week 1 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Rhamondre Stevenson ahead of Week 1

The Patriots made a point to upgrade offensively in the draft, grabbing LT Will Howard with the fourth overall pick and RB TreVeyon Henderson with the 38th overall pick. The Henderson pick doe direct impact RB Rhamondre Stevenson, as the team would love for the rookie to run away with the job. Of course, things don’t always go as we hope, and the team also would love to see Stevenson play well in short yardage work. Like in many backfields, one back should take on the heavy lifting between the tackles while the other gets more work in the receiving game and outside the numbers.
Below, we’ll go over Stevenson’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 1.
Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots, RB, Rhamondre Stevenson
The Patriots start the season against a below average Raiders defense as slight favorites. That does set up well for Stevenson if the team can get out to a big enough lead to be able to stick to the ground game while they grind down the clock. Last season, Las Vegas ranked 25th in fantasy points allowed to opposing backs and they upgraded offensively more than defensively. There is some concern that he could lose playing time if he were to fumble, which has plagued him in the past, but fumbling is something players can put behind them.
Start or sit in Week 1 PPR leagues?
Start. Stevenson very well could score a touchdown this week, which he will probably need in PPR leagues to be a useful start. That’s why I have him right on the edge of startle in PPR. I’d prefer him as a flex play.
Start or sit in Week 1 standard leagues?
Start. I like Stevenson much more in standard leagues, as I do expect Henderson to take on the bulk of the receiving work to go along with some change of pace work being Stevenson. The good chance for a touchdown makes his standard outlook much better.
