The Pittsburgh Steelers head to MetLife Stadium to face the New York Jets this Sunday in a game with the lowest point total of the week. These two teams want to run the ball and play good defense to win games. For the Steelers, their running back room has seen some changes since last season. First round draft pick Najee Harris was allowed to walk, while they drafted Kaleb Johnson with their third-round pick. They also added Eagles scat-back Kenny Gainwell, while retaining and extending Jaylen Warren. The unofficial depth chart to start the season has Warren as RB1, Gainwell at RB2, and Johnson as RB3. We should put emphasis on the term “unofficial” though. Johnson looked fine in preseason and fits the mold of an early down runner more than Warren.
Kaleb Johnson start or sit: Week 1 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Kaleb Johnson ahead of Week 1

I believe we can expect Johnson to see a decent amount of early down rushing attempts, along with some, if not all, goal line work. But, that is still to be seen at this point.
Below, we’ll go over Kaleb Johnson’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 1.
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers, RB, Kaleb Johnson
Johnson has enough finesse to make people miss, but also enough power to shed blockers. The biggest concern for him at the moment is his pass blocking. As an early down back, he can get away with that weakness, but it is something that could limit his snaps, especially with 41 year old statue Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback
Start or sit in Week 1 PPR leagues?
Sit. I’m much more inclined to risk starting Johnson in standard leagues than PPR. There is a chance he scores a short touchdown, but not much of a chance he accumulates multiple receptions.
Start or sit in Week 1 standard leagues?
Sit. I very much would like to take a wait to see approach with this backfield until we get eyes on a real game. But, if I need him I prefer risking a start in standard.
