Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books. For kickers, it was mostly a good one, as we had two game winning field goals to go along with 14-of-16 50+ yard field goals. Maybe that has something to do with the league allowing kickers to “prepare” the kicking balls to their liking or maybe not, but there’s no doubt kickers are continuing to make longer and longer field goals and more accurately. Probably the best game of the week came from the Steelers Chris Boswell, who made just two kicks, but they came from 56 and 60 yards out. The 60-yarder was the game winner with just a minute left in the game giving Pittsburgh a 34-32 lead and eventual win.

Kicker injuries/news
Jake Moody, 49ers
Moody has been released but the 49ers after missing two field goals against the Seahawks. Those misses weren’t the only reason though, as Moody missed 10 of the 34 field goals he attempted in 2024.
Younghoe Koo, Falcons
Koo had an awful 2024 season, making just 73% of his kicks. He then missed the game winning kick in Week 1 against the Buccaneers. The team has brought in Parker Romo to compete with him this week.
Week 2 odds
For kickers, we want favorites in high scoring games, preferably at home and in good weather.

Tyler Loop, Ravens vs. Browns
Loop was the sixth best fantasy kicker in Week 1 after the Ravens put up 40 points against Buffalo. This week he gets a game at home against the Browns as 11-point favorites. He’s also rostered in just 39% of Yahoo leagues.
Chad Ryland, Cardinals vs. Panthers
Ryland had a decent game against the Saints in Week 1, as he hit a 50 yarder and his only miss was a blocked kick from 46-yards out. This week he heads back to Arizona to take on the Panthers as 6.5-point favorites.
