Zach Charbonnet start or sit: Week 2 fantasy football advice

We break down the fantasy football outlook of Zach Charbonnet ahead of Week 2

The Seattle Seahawks did not look good in their home opener, as they lost 17-13 to the division rival 49ers. The 49ers defense looked good despite losing some key players this offseason. Former and now new defensive coordinator Robert Saleh seems to have helped in that regard so far.

Sam Darnold and company now have to travel cross country to take on the Steelers defense in Pittsburgh. Their defense was trounced by Justin Fields and the Jets last week, but the team managed to win in the end. This week they’ll look to get back on track against a much less mobile quarterback in a friendly environment.

Below, we’ll go over Zach Charbonnet outlook in fantasy football for Week 2.

Fantasy Football analysis: Seahawks, RB, Zach Charbonnet

Charbonnet led the backfield in Week 1 despite Kenneth Walker being the nominal starter. He also outplayed Walker, rushing 12 times for 47 yards and a touchdown, while Walker rushed 10 times for 20 yards and caught three passes for four yards.

Charbonnet got goal line, third-down and two-minute drill work, which is what we want to see for our fantasy backs. Walker had been dealing with foot soreness this preseason, but wasn’t listed on the injury report. There is a chance he gets going with some consistent practice reps, but at the moment, I’m on board with Charbonnet until Walker proves me wrong.

Start or sit in Week 2 PPR leagues?

Start. Charbonnet didn’t get any receptions, but he was the third down and hurry up back, which means he should be in a situation to see more targets moving forward. The matchup is tough and he is splitting snaps with Walker, but I still see him as a flex option this week.

Start or sit in Week 2 standard leagues?

Start. Charbonnet was in on all three of their goal line snaps, which is a great sign for his touchdown upside, which is huge in standard leagues.
