Redskins Place RB Clinton Portis On IR After Groin Injury

That’s not happening. The Washington Post now reports that Portis has been placed on injured reserve ending his 2010 season with the Redskins. The loss of Portis definitely hurts the Redskins but it’s really nothing new considering he’s played in just five games this year.

He ends the season with 227 yards on 54 carries -- both career lows. He’s now played in just 13 games in the last two seasons.

Speaking to 106.7 The Fan, Portis suggested he wouldn’t be playing on Sunday because of a groin injury.

This is an easy enough fix: Grab Ryan Torain off the waiver wire.
