Fantasy Football Week 5 News: Clinton Portis Out 4-6 Weeks With Groin Injury

Earlier this week Redskins RB Clinton Portis said he didn't think he would be able to play on Sunday against the Packers because of a groin injury he suffered against the Eagles last week.

He’ll definitely be out on Sunday -- and maybe for at least the next three after that.

Portis is out 4-6 weeks with a third degree separation of the groin.

That means he'll miss at least Week 5-8 against the Packers, Colts, Bears and Lions. In Week 9, the Redskins have a bye, which could give him time to heal.

This means that Ryan Torain now opens as the starting running back after being called up to the active roster just a few weeks ago. Torain has been averaging over four yards per carry in backup duty to Portis over the last two weeks.
