Week 5 is just around the corner. So what should you expect from the top WRs? Here are five names poised for a big weekend.
Fantasy Football Projections Week 5: Wide Receivers
Anquan Boldin - After getting out of the shadow of Larry Fitzgerald, Boldin has ascended to #1 status in Baltimore. The Ravens host the Broncos this week, and Denver has surrendered a whopping eight TDs through the air already this year. Boldin should have no problem getting into the endzone and don't be surprised if he does it multiple times.
Projection: (89 yds, 2 TD)
Roddy White - He's the main target at receiver for Matt Ryan, and this week he gets a Cleveland pass defense that ranks 24th in the NFL and just got absolutely torched by Terrell Owens. Lay money on the Dirty Bird seeing paydirt this week.
Projection: (125 yds, 1 TD)
Hakeem Nicks - No pass defense gives up more yards than the Texans, and they're not bad about handing out TDs, either. Houston has a young and inexperienced secondary, and teams have been taking advantage. The Giants might forget about the run all together and let Eli Manning chuck the ball downfield all day, so Nicks should see big numbers.
Projection: (112 yds, 1 TD)
Reggie Wayne - The old standby is still getting it done for the Colts and Peyton Manning. The Colts get the Chiefs at home this week, and even though Kansas City is an obviously improved team, their pass defense is still porous. With the Colts coming off a shocking loss to Jacksonville, they'll be foaming at the mouth to apply a beatdown, and Wayne should benefit.
Projection: (101 yds, 1 TD)
Mark Clayton - Normally you wouldn't recommend a run-of-the-mill receiver with a rookie QB up towards the top of the weekly projections, but Clayton and the Rams are taking on the Lions, and Detroit is might generous in giving up touchdown passes. The team has allowed eight so far, and the Rams are actually on something of a hot streak. Mix it together and expect good numbers from Clayton.
Projection: (95 yds, 1 TD)
