Atlanta Falcons RB MIchael Turner Scores Two First-Half Touchdowns, Josh Freeman Responds

Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner has posted his second touchdown against the NFC’s best team, running in a two-yarder and a ten-yarder. The second capped a 99-yard Falcons drive. He now has five touchdowns on the season and has gone over 100 yards rushing three times.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman fired back with a 14-yard touchdown to WR Arrelious Benn, the first of Benn’s career. Freeman is five of seven for 46 yards, with touchdowns in five straight games. He’s also ran for 19 yards so far. The Falcons have struggled against mobile quarterbacks at times, and Freeman might be the best they’ve played yet.

Turner has already carried 11 times for 44 yards. The Bucs have the league’s 30th-worst rushing defense, which the Falcons clearly plan to exploit. The Birds have doubled up Tampa’s time of possession as a result.
