The New York Jets trailed the Detroit Lions 7-3 until the last minute of the first half, when QB Mark Sanchez found WR Braylon Edwards for a 74-yard score, the longest in Sanchez’ career and Edwards’ longest since 2007.
New York Jets WR Braylon Edwards Hauls In 74-Yard TD From Mark Sanchez
The Jets were shut out at home last week, so even a single touchdown against the Lions is an improvement. Sanchez started the year hot, throwing eight touchdowns through week four, but only had one in weeks five through seven.
Edwards has caught five of those touchdowns, more than he got in 12 games as a Jet last year, but has yet to account for more than 87 yards in a game. The Sanchize has thrown for 143 yards, meaning a new career high is within reach. He posted 272 yards in his first career game. He’s also thrown four picks in the past two weeks, so keeping that nice and low will help his fantasy totals as well.
