Rookie Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy is having his best game yet, with 174 yards on 19 attempts. He also ran in a 16-yard touchdown to give the Browns a 24-7 lead, which Phil Dawson added three to. This was the first touchdown run of McCoy’s career. He has 20 yards rushing today, more than his previous high of 17.
Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy Reaches End Zone Against Patriots
He’s throwing with more accuracy than in either of his previous games, as he threw two picks against the Pittsburgh Steelers and only completed nine of 16 against the New Orleans Saints. Both of those were road games, so clearly McCoy appreciates the friendly confines of the Dawg Pound.
McCoy’s yards per attempt average is over two yards better than New England Patriots QB Tom Brady’s so far. The Browns have a comfortable fourth quarter lead on the Pats, and much of that has to be attributed to a smart and resourceful day by the rookie passer.
We haven’t though of him as a fantasy option, but with a Browns defense and running game that doesn’t require too much of him, it might be time to consider him from week to week.
