Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning has completed 19 of 29 passes for 174 yards, with a touchdown and a pick, with six of those incompletions coming after WR Austin Collie left the game late in the second quarter.
Peyton Manning Struggling Since Austin Collie Left With Injury?
The Philadelphia Eagles have been getting closer to Manning, realizing they don’t have to worry about Indy’s running game, though they only have one sack of Manning so far. RB Donald Brown is averaging only 2.9 yards on 12 carries.
With Collie out, expect Garcon to see more targets. TE Jacob Tamme has filled in admirably for Dallas Clark, with eight catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, but the Eagles can afford to pay a little more attention to Reggie Wayne without Collie around. Wayne has 52 yards on seven catches.
The Colts have punted three times since Collie left and turned one drive that began with good field position into a field goal. Manning also set up a six-yard Javarris James touchdown run to conclude the drive on which Collie was hurt. Sure, they technically have scored more without Collie than with him, but they’ve really only had one noteworthy offensive play since he left.
