Brett Favre Injury: Can Tarvaris Jackson Be A Quality Starter?

Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre, starting his 297th-straight career game, was driven to the ground by Buffalo Bills DE Arthur Moats, the NFL player with the most Arthurian name and a former James Madison star. Favre left the field with what Fox has called a shoulder injury, CBS a wrist injury, and Rotoworld a back injury. He’s basically got old manitis.

Tarvaris Jackson is in for the second time this season. He hasn’t started a game since 2008, but next week could be his next, though it probably won’t because Favre never stops playing football. Jackson has never been much of a fantasy football factor, but the Vikings have a decent assortment of weapons for him to work with. If he ends up having to start, of course.

Jackson has averaged about 194 yards per start, along with 1.2 touchdowns and .9 interceptions. He also runs around a little and might tack on some scoring with his feet. Seriously, if you’ve been starting Favre for some reason, playing Jackson couldn’t possibly be any worse. If Favre is indeed out next week, of course.
