After the Denver Broncos embarrassed the Kansas City Chiefs 49-29 in November, the second meeting between these two rivals has been billed as a revenge game. Broncos QB Kyle Orton won round one with 296 yards and four touchdowns, but Chiefs QB Matt Cassel had one of his most productive games ever with 469 yards and four touchdowns, though much of that was in garbage time.
Matt Cassel Winning Shootout With Kyle Orton Early On In Broncos-Chiefs
Cassel is winning today’s edition both in the box score and on the scoreboard. The Chiefs are up 7-0 thanks to a two-yard touchdown pass from Cassel to TE Leonard Pope, who is probably not on your fantasy team.
Orton has been one of the NFL’s most explosive passers all year, but Cassel has been overlooked due to Kansas City’s run-first offense. Cassel leads the NFL in touchdowns per attempt and is third in fewest interceptions per attempt, and despite throwing less often than Orton he’s thrown more touchdowns.
