Adrian Peterson, Tarvaris Jackson, And Sidney Rice Keeping Vikings Afloat After Brett Favre Injury

Despite losing QB Brett Favre to a shoulder injury, the Minnesota Vikings are pouring it on the Buffalo Bills in the first half. RB Adrian Peterson has rushed for two touchdowns, WR Sidney Rice has caught two, and QB Tarvaris Jackson threw both of those scores to make up for the pick six he sent Buffalo CB Drayton Florence’s way.

It wouldn’t be shocking if Minnesota’s offense actually improved with Jackson taking over for Favre. Jackson has 146 yards in just over a quarter, with only one incompletion besides his interception. He also leads the Vikings in rushing yardage on only two carries, with his 22 yards more than doubling Favre’s total for the entire season.

This is already Rice’s biggest game of the season after a long wait for him to take the field. He has 96 yards on four catches. Peterson only has 14 yards, eight more than backup RB Toby Gerhart, but is killing it on the goal line.

For the Bills, only RB Fred Jackson has established much of a box score presence so far. Jackson has 24 yards on five carries.
