Brett Favre Inactive In What Could Be His Final NFL Game

Brett Favre told Leslie Frazier that he'd like to play in the Minnesota Vikings' season finale against the Detroit Lions. He won't, however; Favre is inactive with the same concussion that sidelined him during last weekend's Vikings win over Philadelphia.

Joe Webb will make his second straight start at quarterback for Minnesota.

Favre has repeatedly said this season, his twentieth in the NFL, that he'd retire - for good, and for real - after the year concluded. Should he (finally, and mercifully) hold true to his word, the last image of Favre on an NFL gridiron will be lying flat on his face, concussed, in the snow against the Chicago Bears.

In his (again, purported) final season, Favre has thrown for 2,509 yards, 11 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

Webb threw for 195 yards, ran for a further 31, and had a rushing touchdown as the Vikings downed Philadelphia, 24-14, just this past Tuesday. He has a chance to help the Vikes close with two straight wins as he takes on a Lions team that has won its last three contests, as well.
