Brandon Jacobs Injury Update: Giants RB Not Expected To Practice Wednesday

The New York Giants indicated that running back Brandon Jacobs will not practice on Wednesday as he continues working back from a knee injury. Jacobs has not practiced or played since October 2 and was inactive this past Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. If he is unable to go in practice this week, it would seem likely that he will be inactive once again this Sunday.

The Giants face the Bills this Sunday and then have a bye week in week seven. It would appear the Giants will likely rest Jacobs through this week and into the bye, thus getting him ready to return in week eight against the Miami Dolphins. After that Dolphins game, the Giants face a tough slate including the Patriots, 49ers, Saints and Packers.

For this coming week, Jacobs absence means another week of Ahmad Bradshaw carrying the primary rushing load. Against the Seahawks, Bradshaw finished with 17 carries for 58 yards. The Giants found themselves in a bit of a funky game as it was a sort of back-and-forth affair. The Giants relied more on Eli Manning and never really got the run game going. Let's hope for Bradshaw's sake that they learned their lesson and operate bit differently this Sunday against the Bills.
