Fantasy football leagues are quickly reaching the halfway point of their season, with many leagues passing said point this week or next. As owners figure out appropriate sit/start projections, the current bye weeks raise plenty of question marks. In week six, the bye week includes Arizona, Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Seattle and Tennessee.
Fantasy Football Week 6 Advice: Sit, Start Projections For Kickers
For the kicker position, bye weeks really aren't all that huge a deal. I suspect most people simply drop their current kicker and find a new kicker. There are some kickers I would not waive, with Sebastian Janikowski of the Raiders being at the top of the list. Seabass does not always score the most points, but he is as consistent as anybody from 50+ and even gets a chance at some 60-yard field goals on occasion.
For this bye week, if you are looking for a decent kicking option, your best bet is to go with the kickers from teams that have high over/under totals. For those wondering what that means, the over/under is total combined points oddsmakers expect two teams to score. You can view some over/under totals at Odds Shark.
Dallas/New England, Carolina/Atlanta and Buffalo/NY Giants are three of the higher over/unders. If any of those kickers happen to be available, jump on them. Other than that, consider kickers on teams with poor red zone offenses. Some struggling red zone offenses, courtesy of Football Outsiders premium stats content include St. Louis, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Houston. If any of those kickers are also available, you can jump on one of them.
