Plaxico Burress Fantasy: Jets WR Catches Three Touchdowns

Plaxico Burress may not be all the way back after missing two full seasons, but the New York Jets wide receiver showed some definite signs of progress on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. Burress caught three touchdown passes, giving him five for the season. His four catches and 25 yards were hardly impressive, but his fantasy owners will surely take this performance.

Burress was averaging 36 receiving yards a game with 218 receiving yards on the season and 2 touchdowns through his first six games of the 2011 NFL season. Burress’ receiving yards per game is down nearly 10 yards per game from 2008.

Burress was ranked by Yahoo! as the 40th ranked wide receiver heading into Week 7 taking on the Chicago Bears who rank 25th against the pass.
