Tony Gonzalez Fantasy: Falcons TE Leads Team With 5 Recpetions

Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez lead the Falcons in catches today, catching 5 passes for 62 yards against the Detroit Lions. Quarterback Matt Ryan played some of the game on an injured ankle, but Gonzalez was still targeted 8 times, the second mot out of any receiver for the Falcons.

Gonzalez was averaging 53 receiving yards a game with 318 receiving yards on the season and 4 touchdowns through his first six games of the 2011 NFL season. Gonzalez’s receiving yards per game is up nearly 15 yards per game from last season.

Gonzalez was ranked by Yahoo! as the 6th ranked tight end heading into Week 7 taking on the Detroit Lions who rank 6th against the pass.
