Brandon Pettigrew Fantasy Update: Detroit Lions TE Has Quiet Day With 31 Yards

Brandon Pettigrew came up with just four catches for 31 yards in the Detroit Lions' 23-16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon. It was a down day for Pettigrew because quarterback Matthew Stafford also failed to put up big fantasy numbers. Calvin Johnson wound up with 115 of Stafford's 183 yards. Still, Pettigrew did receive six targets from Stafford, demonstrating that he is an option.

Pettigrew was averaging 53 receiving yards a game with 321 receiving yards on the season and 2 touchdowns through his first six games of the 2011 NFL season. Pettigrew’s receiving yards per game is up nearly 15 yards per game from last season.

Pettigrew was ranked by Yahoo! as the 4th ranked tight end heading into Week 7 taking on the Atlanta Falcons.
