The New England Patriots went into Oakland on Sunday and handled their business with the Raiders, winning 31-19. The game allowed the Patriots to fully break out their latest running back, Stevan Ridley. The rookie out of LSU was coming off six carries for 42 yards against the Bills and built on that with a big performance, rushing ten times for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Ridley and the Patriots running back situation has been a little tough to figure out with BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead also in the mix. The law firm got the most carries with 16, but we would seem to have a full-fledged running back by committee on our hands. Ridley could very well burst through and secure the long term position, but it may take a couple weeks to figure that out.
For now, if Ridley is available on your waiver wire I’d recommend snatching him up. He is a great young running back and could very well end up in your starting lineup before the season is out.
