We are a few hours away from kicking off week eight of the 2011 NFL season and we get that much closer to getting through the always difficult bye weeks. With six teams on bye this week (Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay, Oakland, NY Jets, Tampa Bay), the lineup decisions get a little more difficult.
Fantasy Football Week 8 Advice: Sit/Start Projections For WRs
At the wide receiver position, fantasy owners will be without the likes of Roddy White, Greg Jennings, Santonio Holmes and even a resurgent Plaxico Burress. With Andre Johnson, Santana Moss out for Sunday and Hines Ward listed as questionable, fantasy football owners will have plenty of decisions to make at the wide receiver position.
You know to start guys like Calvin Johnson, Wes Welker and Mike Wallace. You seek out fantasy wisdom to make the tougher calls in your lineup. Below we have posted thirty top projections at wide receiver courtesy of numberFire.com. As you scroll through the list, there are some intriguing options for fantasy football.
SLEEPERS
Antonio Brown/Emmanuel Sanders, Steelers: The Pittsburgh Steelers get to take on a Patriots secondary that is struggling immensely. If Hines Ward plays, both young Steelers receivers are still decent options, but they take another step up if Ward doesn't play. Brown is the better of the two, but both are solid.
Pierre Garcon, Colts: Tough but decent matchup could mean good things for Garcon. He wasn't spectacular last week against New Orleans but I think he bounces back this week.
Jabar Gaffney, Redskins: Santana Moss is sidelined, and while the Redskins passing attack could struggle, if anybody is going to get quality targets, Gaffney is the guy. And the Redskins will need some serious passing totals if they're going to hang with the high flying Bills.
