Montario Hardesty Fantasy: Out Early With Injury, Touches Limited

Though the San Fransisco 49ers run defense is very good, Montario Hardesty seemed like a good fantasy play. Peyton Hillis was out and Colt McCoy hasn't been great, so Hardesty was set to get a lot of carries. Unfortunately for Hardesty, the Browns, and fantasy owners, the Browns' backup RB was injured early, coming out after just two carries for six yards.

The Browns didn’t expect Hillis to play entering their Week 8 matchup, so Hardesty got the pleasure of facing the 49ers’ terrifying run defense. Entering Sunday’s game, they were giving up an average of 74.7 rushing yards a game, good for second in the NFL, and hadn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher since 2009.

Briefly Hardesty, then Chris Ogbonnaya also had to deal with a Niners defense that was stacking the box, because McCoy has been poor recently. It's probably not a good fantasy move to play a running back when Patrick Willis just knows he's going to be running. That's a bad situation.
