LeGarrette Blount Injury Update: Returning As Every Down Back This Week

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount is set to return to action this week as he caps his recovery from an MCL sprain, suffered week five against the San Francisco 49ers. The return comes at a fortuitous time for the Buccaneers who lost backup running back Earnest Graham to an Achilles tear week six against the Chicago Bears. The Bucs return from their bye week looking to get back on track with a healthy Blount.

Blount is reportedly set to carry the full load for the Bucs, which would be a slight change from his role to date. Prior to the injuries, LeGarrette Blount was the first and second down back, while Earnest Graham handled the third down role. Graham was considered the better receiver. Blount has four receptions on the year and nine thus far in his brief career. This is a boost in Blount's status, but it will be interesting to see how long that lasts. It would not be surprising to see Kregg Lumpkin start to fill Graham's third down role.

For now, the time has come to get LeGarrette Blount back into your starting lineup. We’ll keep an eye out for any setbacks, but it looks like he has back and ready to go.
