Jacoby Ford Injury Update: Sprained Foot Sidelines Raiders Receiver

The Oakland Raiders emerged victorious against the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football, but the victory came with a price. The team lost their number one receiver, Jacoby Ford, to a sprained foot. Ford injured the foot on a 41-yard reception as he was tangled up on the pass. Ford left on a cart but x-rays reportedly came back negative for any break. He finished the game on crutches and will be re-evaluated as we head into the weekend.

Ford was coming off big performance against the Denver Broncos in which he caught five receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. He looked ready to get going for a second straight game before going down. The injury is being described in similar terms to Darren McFadden's own sprained foot, but we do not know yet whether it is as severe as McFadden's.

The Raiders were able to get by without Ford as rookie Denarius Moore blew up the Chargers secondary to the tune fo five receptions for 123 yards. After seeing Darrius Heyward-Bey getting many of Jason Campbell's targets, Ford and Moore have moved back ahead of him with Carson Palmer. We'll have more updates on Ford as more information is known about his injury.
