Fantasy Football Week 10 Advice: Sit/Start Projections For QBs

Week ten of the 2011 NFL season is already a game in as the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers played the inaugural Thursday Night Football game of the season. Carson Palmer and Philip Rivers put together solid, if somewhat unspectacular performances on Thursday. Sunday is when the big guns come out as there are no bye weeks to force QBs to the bench. This will be the week you need to bring your A-game in setting your lineup.

Given that there are no bye weeks, sleepers are a tough call. Nobody will be benching Aaron Rodgers, Michael Vick, Cam Newton or Drew Brees. However, at that next level of quarterback, sleepers can have some added value depending on the matchups.

Tim Tebow: I don't know if we can really call Tim Tebow a "sleeper" in fantasy football. He's not exactly a great throwing QB, but with the Broncos moving to a read-option offense, his legs will add tremendous fantasy value. The Chiefs will be more prepared for this than the Raiders were last week, but even still, Tebow should get solid overall numbers because of the running game.

Matt Cassel: An abysmal start sent Cassel to the free agent market early on, but he has bounced back in recent weeks. He had a stinker last week against Miami, but has a great matchup against the Broncos with which to bounce back. If I had to choose I'd take Tebow over Cassel for fantasy purposes, but Cassel is a solid option.
