Matthew Stafford Injury News: Fractured Finger, Swirling Winds Lead To Inaccurate Passes

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford reportedly played Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with a fractured index finger on his right throwing hand. If you combine that with the 30+ mph swirling winds at Soldier Field, it should not be surprising that he only completed 33 of his 63 pass attempts. Add in four interceptions and it was not a good day for Matthew Stafford.

The question is how much of the inaccuracy was due to the wind and how much was due to the finger. Stafford and the Lions face the Carolina Panthers next week and it provides a solid matchup if Stafford can improve his accuracy. I think for fantasy purposes, you have to stick with Stafford pending updates this week. Carolina did fairly well in containing Matt Hasselbeck, but they have a defense that quality quarterbacks can blow up. If Stafford brings his A-game, he is one such quarterback.
