A.J. Green Injury Update: Bengals Receiver Hyperextends Knee

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green looked had a strong start to Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers as he hauled in a beautiful 36-yard touchdown catch. Unfortunately, Green came down awkwardly on the catch and limped off the field. Green returned for the rest of the second quarter, but he was unable to finish the game. Afterward, Green confirmed to the press that he had hyperextended his knee.

Green didn’t think the injury was too serious, but he didn’t seem completely sure about the timetable for his return. I’d imagine he’ll see how he feels in the morning and if there is any swelling or any other problems with the knee. Marv Lewis will likely chat with the media tomorrow and hopefully will be able to provide an update on Green’s condition.

In Green's absence, the Bengals spread the ball around with six different receivers catching the ball. Andrew Hawkins led all Bengals receivers with five receptions for 56 yards. Jermaine Gresham joined A.J. Green with a touchdown.
