Plaxico Burress Fantasy Recap: Jets WR Continues Resurgence

While the New York Jets Thursday Night Football contest against the Denver Broncos was often devoid of quality offense, a few fantasy figures emerged from the rubble. Tim Tebow is the most notable, but Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress stepped up with a solid game. Burress caught four passes for 64 yards while being targeted a team-high nine times. The stats raised his season totals to 30 receptions for 425 yards and six touchdowns.

Burress has been up and down in his first season since leaving prison. The highlight thus far has been his three touchdown performance against the San Diego Chargers. That big performance aside, Burress has still emerged as a solid red zone threat because you simply can't teach 6'5.

Although Burress outperformed Santonio Holmes on Thursday, Burress remains a flex option. Now that we are getting through the last bye weeks, he will rarely be a guy you want to rely on as a WR2. He'll occasionally put up some big games, but you don't want to be relying on Plaxico too much.
