Darren McFadden Injury Update: Oakland Raiders Likely To Start Michael Bush Sunday Versus Broncos

The Oakland Raiders return from their bye this week to face the Denver Broncos and they might be without their top offensive weapon. Running back Darren McFadden suffered a sprained foot in week seven against the Kansas City Chiefs and still has not fully healed from the injury. It apparently is looking more and more like the Raiders will rest McFadden for one more week.

If McFadden is unable to go this Sunday, Michael Bush would get the start against a struggling Denver Broncos squad. Bush has proven to be one of the best backup running backs in the NFL and an able replacement for McFadden. This has been key because McFadden has dealt with numerous injuries over the course of his NFL career. This past week, Bush rushed for 99 yards on 17 carries in place of McFadden.

If Darren McFadden cannot go on Sunday, Taiwan Jones emerges as the backup running back. Bush would likely handle most of the carries, but Jones would provide an option to stretch the field a bit. Against the Chiefs, Jones had three carries for 18 yards and one reception for 30 yards. He is not a great fantasy option at this point, but might be worth stashing on your bench to see what he can do as a number two back.
