The Giants may have been blown out 49-24 in real life, but they sure made fantasy owners happy. Victor Cruz led all receivers in Monday's game with nine catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his scores came in the fourth quarter when the game was already well in hand for the Saints -- and each one was answered by another New Orleans touchdown -- but again, we're talking fantasy, and padding stats late counts as a clutch performance.
Victor Cruz Fantasy Recap: Giants WR Pads Stats In Blowout Loss
Cruz wasn’t a completely unknown quantity before this season, as he had a fantastic 2010 preseason before injuries shut him down, but his stats have still been shocking thus far. Because of injuries, Cruz has gotten an opportunity to feature this season and has quickly become the Giants’ most productive receiver, recording 46 catches for 800 yards and five touchdowns coming into Week 12.
Even when the Giants have all of their receivers healthy -- Mario Manningham was out on Monday -- Cruz will likely continue to be a good fantasy play.
