Ahmad Bradshaw Injury Update: Fantasy Status Remains Nebulous

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw reportedly suffered a cracked bone in his foot and at this point his status for Sunday is uncertain. There have been numerous conflicting reports over the past 24 hours covering everything from out indefinitely to not serious and will play Sunday to no surgery for now but Sunday status is unknown.

It has been that kind of day trying to figure out what to do in his absence. Some folks are grabbing D.J. Ware, others are sitting tight with Brandon Jacobs, and others are just staring off into an abyss with no idea what to do at this point. The joy of Twitter specifically and the Internet in general is the ability to get a whole host of conflicting information very quickly.

At this point, the best advice I can give is if you have Ahmad Bradshaw, but no Brandon Jacobs, D.J. Ware is worth grabbing if it won’t require releasing anybody significant. Even if Bradshaw can’t go on Sunday, the odds are in favor of Brandon Jacobs getting most of the carries. That is no guarantee, but unless you are sitting with only one running back in your starting lineup, Ware is not a good starting option this week.

If you have Brandon Jacobs on your roster, he might be a good start no matter what. The Giants are a 4:15pm ET game, which means you might be forced to make a decision early in the day depending on start times for your running backs and flex position. If you have to make the decision before the 1:00pm ET games and don’t have other decent options, start Brandon Jacobs. He will get a decent number of carries no matter what, and it would not be surprising to see Bradshaw start but eventually give way to Jacobs.
