Darren McFadden Injury Update: Raiders RB Looking Doubtful For Thursday Versus San Diego Chargers

The Oakland Raiders look like they might be without running back Darren McFadden for a second consecutive week as he continues to try and rehab from his sprained foot. McFadden injured the foot in the first quarter of the Raiders loss to the Chiefs. He was on crutches the last two weeks and missed Sunday's game against the Broncos. According to Vittorio Tafur, McFadden has not begun running yet, which would seem to make it questionable at best that he will be able to play Thursday against the San Diego Chargers.

Given that the Raiders have a short week before the Chargers game on Thursday Night Football, this is not a surprising development. Preliminary reports were indicating the injury could cost McFadden two to four weeks. At this point he is approaching the outer limit of that timetable.

Michael Bush will likely get the start against the Chargers, as he did against the Broncos. Bush is one of the better backup running backs in the league and rushed for 96 yards against Denver. Even though the Raiders will look to take advantage of a Chargers secondary that was thrashed by Green Bay, Michael Bush remains a very solid fantasy start as long as Darren McFadden is sidelined. Keep him in your lineup moving forward.
