Darren McFadden To Miss Rest Of 2011, According To Report

Though he was initially expected to return perhaps in Week 17 or, if the Raiders go on a winning streak, the playoffs, NFL.com is now reporting that running back Darren McFadden will likely not be back until 2012 with a foot injury, though it won't require surgery.

McFadden hasn't played since his injury against the Chiefs in Week 7, and he's been replaced admirably by backup Michael Bush, but Bush can't replace McFadden's dynamic power/speed combination and receiving ability. McFadden was averaging more than 100 rushing yards per game through Week 6 and had scored five total touchdowns. Bush has rushed for 764 yards and gained 319 receiving yards to go along with eight total touchdowns in 2011, the majority of which came after McFadden's injury.

The Raiders are 7-6 and one game behind the Denver Broncos and whoever their quarterback is for the AFC West lead, and one game back of the New York Jets for the second Wild Card spot in the conference.
