Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday to repair his meniscus and will reportedly miss two to three weeks of action. Sanders missed Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens and will miss Sunday's game at the Cincinnati Bengals and potentially their post-bye game at the Kansas City Chiefs.
Emmanuel Sanders Injury Update: Meniscus Surgery Knocks Out Steelers WR 2-3 Weeks
Sanders had put together back-to-back solid performances and was looking to getting into a bit of a groove before he suffered the knee injury against the New England Patriots. Due to injuries suffered by Hines Ward, Sanders and Antonio Brown had both moved up the depth chart briefly.
Brown remains the best option after Mike Wallace, but Sanders now drops by the wayside as far as fantasy football is concerned. Sanders will return as many fantasy seasons are wrapping up and it is unlikely that he makes a huge impact on fantasy playoff rosters. if you have him on your roster, it is probably a good time to look for other options.
