Kevin Smith Injury Update: Lions RB Limited On Thursday

Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith was back at practice Thursday in a limited fashion a day after sitting out practice. While the Lions would be more comfortable with a full practice from Smith before Sunday, even limited is a step in the right direction. Although Smith was limited, he was able to take part in some team drills. Often times the "limited" classification means they took part in individual drills but not team football drills, so this is a good sign.

Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams would split the carries if Smith is unable to go, but coordinator Scott Linehan was optimistic about Smith being able to play on Sunday. If Smith can play on Sunday, it will be interesting to see how the backup carries are divided up between Morris and Williams. Morris entered last Sunday's game as the starter, but Williams ended up handling more of the carries.
