Willis McGahee Injury Update: Broncos RB Suffers Leg Injury In Defeat

The Denver Broncos found themselves a bit shorthanded on Sunday in 41-23 loss to the New England Patriots. Running back Willis McGahee had to leave the game at one point with a leg injury. While he did return to the field, the injury seemed to limit him to a certain extent.

McGahee rushed five times for 59 yards early into the second quarter before giving way to Lance Ball. McGahee returned to action on the Broncos first drive of the third quarter and had a pair of rushes for 11 yards to start the drive. He then disappeared again until the next drive. He rushed for nine more yards and that was the end of his day.

Part of the limited performance might have been the Patriots eventual sizable lead. However, given that the Broncos were getting back into the game a bit and McGahee was performing effectively when running, something had to be up. John Fox will chat with the media on Monday and might shed some light on the injury.
