Josh Freeman Injury: Bucs QB Reportedly Won’t Play Vs. Panthers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' quarterback Josh Freeman, bothered all week with a sore throwing shoulder, won't play in Week 13 in the Bucs' divisional matchup against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Backup quarterback Josh Johnson will get the start.

Freeman has regressed this year after leading the Buccaneers to a 10-6 record last season while turning the ball over very few times. As a result, his receivers' fantasy value, namely Mike Williams, has suffered to the point where many of them aren't worthy of a roster spot in most leagues. With Johnson, more of a runner than a passer, under center, it's doubtful that that will change. Williams has been abysmal, catching just two touchdown passes last year, and Arrelious Benn and Preston Parker have been adequate at best.

The Buccaneer who figures to benefit most from this injury, if at all, is running back LeGarrette Blount. Though he's used to the workload, he might get upwards of 30 carries against a weak Panthers run defense.
