Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick was back on the practice field with the first team offense on Thursday after passing a round of concussion tests. While Vick was cleared to practice, the Eagles are taking a day-by-day approach with their quarterback describing the decision-making process as a constant ongoing process.
Michael Vick Injury Update: Thursday Practice Improves Fantasy Prospects
NFL teams seem to enjoy playing coy about injuries and returns, particularly when it comes to key members of the team. Coaches think that by playing coy they can force the coming week’s opponent to waste time preparing for somebody (Mike Kafka in this example) that won’t hit the playing field.
For your fantasy football starting lineup purposes, you have to assume that the odds of Michael Vick starting are pretty high. The Eagles are playing some games with this but it seems like we’ve reached a point where you can assume Vick will play. We’ll have another update with the final injury report tomorrow but I wouldn’t expect much to change. Vick will likely be listed as probable and Andy Reid will still be mum, electing to wait until Sunday to announce Vick. In that case, you’ll need to keep an eye out before the 1:00 pm ET games.
