The Houston Texans announced that running back Arian Foster was a limited participant in practice Thursday, a day after he missed practice entirely. Foster remains a big question mark for Sunday, although his participation in practice on Thursday was a sizable step forward.
Arian Foster Injury Update: Limited Thursday Participation Leaves Him Questionable For Sunday
The Arian Foster/Ben Tate situation looks like it will come down to a bit of a game-time decision on Sunday. It would not surprise me at all if Foster was active for the game but operated as the clear number two to Tate. Through two games Ben Tate has shown he can handle the rushing load, which would seemingly make it easier for the Texans to either deactivate Foster or at least limit his carries.
For the Arian Foster owners out there (myself included), more than likely your best bet will be to sit him. Short of Gary Kubiak specifically saying Foster will be starting AND getting a lot of carries, it seems like too much of a gamble at this point. If you have Ben Tate and Arian Foster, you should plan on starting Tate, even if Foster is going to be active. We’ll have more updates through the weekend, but that’s the logical thought for now.
