Steven Jackson Injury: Remains Questionable, Will Be A Game-Time Decision

Update: Steven Jackson’s agent tweets positive news.

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson missed Monday night's loss with a quadriceps injury that is likely to keep him out of this Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Officially listed as "questionable" on the injury report, Jackson suffered the injury on his first carry of the season, a 47-yard touchdown run against the Philadelphia Eagles. Jackson had one more carry against the Eagles, but spent the rest of the opener on the sidelines and was inactive for Monday night's loss to the New York Giants.

This week, Jackson did not practice on Wednesday before being limited on Thursday and Friday.

“At least he (Jackson) got some work today and we’ll see where we’re at tomorrow,” Spagnuolo told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “It may be a game-time thing.”

The Rams beefed up their depth behind Jackson this offseason, signing free agents Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood. When Jackson went down in the opener, Williams ran for 91 yards against the Eagles, but was limited to 36 yards against the Giants and injured his hamstring. Williams missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but returned in limited duty on Friday and is also listed as "questionable".

If neither Jackson nor Williams can go, the undersized and oft-injured Norwood would be the No. 1 back against a Ravens defense that ranks fourth in the NFL against the run.
