New England Patriots defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been ruled out for the game against the Buffalo Bills. Haynesworth injured his back last week against the San Diego Chargers and was limited all week in practice. Even if Haynesworth was healthy however, there is no telling how effective he would have been for the Patriots. Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe charted Haynesworth's defensive snaps last week and noted that he was handled one-on-one by Chargers guard Kris Dielman on at least 15 plays. Albert played only 22 plays however, so that was a big time problem.
Albert Haynesworth Status Update: Out Against the Bills
In the week one matched up with the Miami Dolphins, Haynesworth looked like the Haynesworth of old, who was one of the most dominant interior defensive lineman in the league.
Without Haynesworth, the Patriots already thin defensive line will be even thinner. The Patriots will also be without defensive lineman Mike Wright and Myron Pryor.
