Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson's status for the game against the San Francisco 49ers is still up in the air and a bit of a question mark. Simpson is listed on the injury report as questionable, yet the wide receiver has no actual injury. Simpson was held out of practice on both Thursday and Friday, mostly due to Simpson's legal situation. The wide receiver was questioned by authorities on Wednesday after two pounds of marijuana was delivered to his home. Another 6.5 pounds of marijuana was found inside his home following a search.
Jerome Simpson Status Update: Bengals WR Questionable, But No Injury
The Bengals have been relatively mum on Simpson’s status for Sunday, but it’s still possible the wide receiver will still play. “We’re still taking to people and figuring out what the best thing is for Jerome,” Lewis said, per Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Any decisions I make on it are going to be based on what people recommend is the best thing for him.”
With the possibility of Simpson being out and Jordan Shipley tearing his ACL, it looks like rookie A.J. Green will get the majority of the looks for the Bengals.
