Marcedes Lewis Status Update: Questionable, Will Start

Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowl tight end Marcedes Lewis missed last weeks game against the New York Jets that saw the Jacksonville Jaguars blown out 32-3 and look totally inept on offense, passing for less than 130 total yards. Lewis strained his calf in the Jaguars week one victory over the Tennessee Titans. Originally thought the be cramps during the game, Lewis wound up limited all week and missed the game in week two.

This week however, Lewis was limited in Wednesday's practice, but practiced in full on both Thursday and Friday. Lewis is expected to start against the Carolina Panthers and be a factor in the passing game. On the Jaguars, Lewis is the second major target in the passing game that will now feature rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert. What is a better safety net for a rookie quarterback than a 6 foot 8 tight end who's a former basketball player?

Lewis looks like a good play in fantasy against a Panthers team missing two of their three starting linebackers, and who’ve gotten killed by tight ends in the first two weeks of the season.
