Marion Barber will miss the Chicago Bears' third game against the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora, though the team expects him back for Week 4. WR Roy Williams will reportedly lace 'em up, too.
Marion Barber Injury: Bears RB Out, Roy Williams In For Bears In Week 3
Barber and the Bears were hopeful in the days leading up to the game that he'd be able to overcome the calf injury that's plagued him for weeks, but it appears he's still not ready to tough it. Matt Forte has been superb early in the season, catching 15 passes for more than 200 yards in his first two games and averaging over 4.5 yards per carry. He's still a guy you need to lock up on fantasy rosters, now even more so that only Khalil Bell will be backing him up.
Roy Williams has been dealing with a groin injury in past weeks — he missed the Bears' game against the Saints last week — but he's reportedly a go, which should at worst boost Jay Cutler's passing options and at best, Williams will finally realize all that potential people saw in him and catch 15 passes for 270 yards and 6 touchdowns. Best case scenario for the Bears, right there.
