Our partner, numberfire.com, took a look at players who might be on the waiver wire and calculates how they’re doing against their expected average. The higher the percentage above average, the hotter the player is in fantasy football. Below, they drop ten names on us who might be worth a look on your waiver wire. Conversely, they calculated five guys who are under-performing and might be heading towards the the trade/drop zone.
Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire: Torrey Smith Makes A Name
As mentioned in our previous update, wide receivers are in vogue on the waiver wire this week. Torrey Smith, Victor Cruz, Lance Moore and Nate Washington are definitely guys stirring up interest. And don't look now, but veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is putting together a nice season.
As for the trade/drops, I don't think many owners are going to be dropping guys like Hines Ward or DeAngelo Williams. But what we would suggest is to start exploring trades. It's tough to sell low when you probably bought high, but sitting on some these guys and playing them week to week might really start hurting you.
